A strong brand isn't born in the logo. It's born in the strategy
Before any design work, BDDB.ag gets to know the business, the audience and the competition. We define the purpose, positioning, personality and the promise the brand will keep at every touchpoint. That is what turns a company into a benchmark in its market.
Strategy, positioning and identity for brands that want to be chosen, not just remembered.
The service
What a branding agency is and how BDDB.ag works
BDDB.ag is a branding agency that defines how your brand should be perceived and organizes everything it says, shows and does to get there. We deliver brand strategy, positioning, visual identity, brandbook and ongoing brand management support. We have been in business since August 2002, with offices in Curitiba and São Paulo, and have worked with more than 100 national brands.
What branding is, in practice
Branding is the management of the decisions that shape how a brand is perceived: what it promises, to whom, in what tone and at which touchpoints. Logo, website and campaign are consequences of those decisions. When strategy comes first, every piece reinforces the same idea and your communication investment goes further. To dig deeper into the concept, read our article What strategic branding is and what a branding agency does.

How the process works
01Immersion and diagnosis
We listen to the people who make decisions and the people who serve the customer. On the Atacado Games project in Paraguay, we interviewed directors, managers and the sales team of a company with more than 400 employees, in addition to qualitative and quantitative research. That diagnosis is what revealed the need to change the company's name.
02Strategy and positioning
We turn the diagnosis into clear choices: brand territory, differentiators and what the brand will not do. The result is the brand platform, validated with leadership.
03Brand expression
Once the strategy is approved, we create the visual and verbal identity and test it on real applications, from the business card to the storefront.
04Rollout
We document everything in the brandbook and oversee the rollout. For BRF S.A., we led the rollout of the new brand in eight Brazilian cities, with corporate visual communication and wayfinding for the administrative headquarters.
A strong brand is built from the inside out. It starts with clarity among the people who make decisions and only reaches credibility when every layer beneath it is solid.

ATACADO CONNECT CASE · REPOSITIONING
A brandbook isn't a logo manual. It's a positioning strategy
Atacado Games started in 1995 as a 2 m² video game store in Paraguay. It grew and began selling electronics, computers and cell phones, but the name still said "games". The brand told a smaller story than the company.
Before designing anything, BDDB.ag listened to leadership, staff and customers and built the brand platform: history, value proposition, pillars, purpose and positioning. That strategy is what showed the need for a new name. And so Atacado Connect: seu mundo tech was born.

When the brand keeps pace with the size of the business, the company grows with it
Atacado Games was already big, but it was remembered as a video game store. The repositioning made the brand speak to people who buy technology: the gamer, the family, the retailer and the wholesaler.
With clear positioning, the company made room for its full product mix, for wholesale and for e-commerce, with the same language from the building sign to the checkout. The strategy became the criterion for every communication decision, not just a chapter in the manual.
30 YEARS OF HISTORY
From 2 square meters to a technology benchmark in Paraguay
The new brand also tells the company's journey: from Super Games, in 1995, to Olympic Games, Atacado Games and, in 2024, Atacado Connect. The timeline became a communication piece in the store.
BRAND PLATFORM
What comes before the logo: the strategy that repositioned Atacado Connect
Every visual decision in the new brand comes from these five pieces of the brandbook. Click the screens to see them full size.
01Our story
A manifesto that turns 30 years into a narrative
“Our story is unique.”
From a 2 m² micro-business to a technology benchmark: the manifesto organizes that journey and puts people at the center. It became a wall in the store, content on social media and a talking point for leadership.
02Value proposition
Why buy here, answered in six questions
What, how, who, where, when and why. The proposition makes the brand's differentiator clear: the widest selection, the most competitive prices and the most trusted brands, for retail and wholesale customers in Brazil and Paraguay. It guides product mix, pricing and service.
03Brand pillars
Past, present and future in nine words
The pillars connect what the company was to what it wants to be. They work as a filter: every campaign, hire and in-store experience must honor at least one of them.
PastCourage, originality and innovation
PresentFamily, humility and determination
FutureTechnology, ideas and people
04Purpose
The purpose explains the new name
“We wake up every day to connect people, ideas and technology.”
The company never sold just games. It connects people to the technology that changes their lives. Once the purpose became clear, the name Games was too small and Connect started to make sense.
05Positioning
To be remembered as family, not as a counter
In a market where everyone sells the same products, Atacado Connect chose to be remembered for the relationship: supporting, being present and delivering experiences that connect people to what they want. That positioning is what supports the signature seu mundo tech.
AND THERE'S MORE IN THE BRANDBOOK
Golden circle, culture, archetypes, personality and tone of voice
The Atacado Connect brand platform also defines the golden circle (the why, the how and the what), the culture with mission, vision and values, the Creator and Caregiver archetypes, the personality attributes and the tone of voice that guides every piece of brand copy.
BRAND CONSTRUCTION
From strategy to design: how the brand took shape
The identity was designed only after the brand platform. That's why every element has a function and a reason to exist.
Visual guidelinesEach shape in the symbol has a meaning: the letter A (atacado, Portuguese for wholesale), the letter C (connect), the world (global presence), evolution (growth) and support (customer support).Construction and symmetryGrid, proportions and clear space ensure the brand works from the favicon to the building sign.Condensed markThe ATKDO CNNCT version was created for internal materials and spaces where the main brand is already present.Color standardsSignature green, black and white, with specifications for print, plotting, digital and fabric.TypographyArchivo semi-expanded in four weights: technological, legible and full of personality.IconographyCustom icons for products and wayfinding: checkout, package pickup, elevator, stairs and restrooms.Patterns and texturesGraphic elements derived from the symbol that bring rhythm to packaging, facades and social media.Visual elements"Unindo pessoas, tecnologia e ideias" and "seu mundo tech": the language of the brand platform becomes visual language.
BRAND IN MOTION
The identity also gained motion and a new website
We created the Atacado Connect logo animations to open videos, social media posts and in-store screens, plus a new website in the same language: the signature green, the symbol and "seu mundo tech" on every page.

ATACADO CONNECT CASE
Brandbook and wayfinding: a brand you experience in every meter of the store
For Atacado Connect, BDDB.ag created the complete brandbook for the new brand and brought the strategy into the physical space. The wayfinding project organizes checkout, package pickup, restrooms, elevator and floors with the same visual language, from the LED panel on the facade to the staff uniforms.

Rockfeller Language Center: a partnership since the network's first year, covering naming, brand, branding guide, teaching materials and a distance learning platform.
Apolar Imóveis: visual identity, print media campaigns, digital marketing and strategic branding.
Brands such as Yamaha, CNH, IDB, Itaipu Binacional, Batel Grill and Hospital Nossa Senhora das Graças have also worked with the agency. See more in our case portfolio and learn how strategy becomes value in Brand strategy in practice.
Frequently asked questions
What does a branding agency do?+
A branding agency defines the brand strategy (positioning, value proposition, personality) and creates the elements that express it, such as name, visual identity, tone of voice and brandbook. It then oversees how they are applied across every touchpoint.
What is the difference between branding and visual identity?+
Branding is the strategic management of how a brand is perceived. Visual identity is one of the deliverables of branding: the set of logo, colors, typography and graphic elements that makes the brand recognizable.
How long does a branding project take?+
It depends on the scope. Projects with diagnosis, strategy and identity usually take a few months. Adding naming, extensive research or rollout across multiple locations extends the timeline. The schedule is defined in the proposal.
How much does it cost to hire a branding agency?+
The investment varies with the size of the company, the number of audiences interviewed and the deliverables included. BDDB.ag presents the fee after an initial conversation about goals and scope.
Does BDDB.ag work with companies outside Curitiba?+
Yes. We have offices in Curitiba, São Paulo and Miami and serve clients across Brazil, with in-person and remote stages as the project requires.
